Simple Past Regular

O passado simples descreve ações concluídas num momento específico no passado. Os verbos regulares adicionam -ed. Existem cerca de 200 verbos irregulares comuns com formas passadas únicas que devem ser aprendidas individualmente.

She spoke to the manager yesterday. — Ela falou com o gerente ontem.

Present Continuous Regular

O presente contínuo descreve ações que estão a acontecer neste momento ou situações temporárias. Formado com am/is/are + verbo-ing. Também é utilizado para planos futuros definidos.

She is speaking to a client at the moment. — Ela está a falar com um cliente neste momento.

Past Continuous Regular

O passado contínuo descreve ações que estavam em progresso num momento específico do passado, frequentemente interrompidas por outro evento. Formado com was/were + verbo-ing.

She was speaking when the fire alarm went off. — Ela estava a falar quando o alarme de incêndio disparou.

Present Perfect Regular

O presente perfeito liga o passado ao presente. Descreve experiências, eventos recentes ou situações que começaram no passado e continuam agora. Formado com have/has + particípio passado.

She has spoken at over fifty conferences. — Ela falou em mais de cinquenta conferências.

Past Perfect Regular

O passado perfeito descreve uma ação completada antes de outro evento passado — o passado do passado. Formado com had + particípio passado. Implica sempre um ponto de referência no passado.

She had spoken to him before the meeting started. — Ela tinha falado com ele antes de a reunião começar.

Future Simple Regular

O futuro simples expressa previsões, decisões espontâneas e promessas. É formado com will + infinitivo base. A forma contraída will not = won't é muito comum no inglês falado.

Future Continuous Regular

O futuro contínuo descreve uma ação que estará em progresso num momento específico no futuro. Formado com will be + verbo-ing. Frequentemente utilizado para descrever ações planeadas ou esperadas que estão a decorrer.

This time tomorrow she will be speaking to the board. — Esta hora amanhã, ela estará a falar com a direção.

Future Perfect Regular

O futuro perfeito descreve uma ação que será concluída antes de um ponto específico no futuro. Formado com will have + particípio passado. Comum com expressões de tempo como by then, by the time.

By Friday she will have spoken to all the clients. — Até sexta-feira, ela terá falado com todos os clientes.

Conditional Regular

O condicional descreve situações hipotéticas e os seus resultados. Formado com would + infinitivo base. Usado em orações condicionais, pedidos educados e discurso indirecto sobre eventos futuros.

She would speak more if she had the chance. — Ela falaria mais se tivesse a oportunidade.
